PAWSOME news for pet parents! We're absolutely thrilled to welcome your four-legged family members at most Royal Palm homes, because let's be honest, they're probably better behaved than most humans anyway! 

Every pet, yes, even your “that’s not a dog, that’s a small bear”, needs to complete our professional screening process, which costs $30 per pet. It’s basically a background check, but with way more cuteness. This applies to everyone: pet owners, non-pet owners, emotional support hamsters, you name it. We want to make sure everyone is on the same page about our pet and animal policies, and that our records are accurate.

How It Works:

  • You’ll go through a quick third-party screening (easy, digital, and not as intimidating as it sounds).
  • You’ll upload a photo of your furry friend. Bonus points for costumes.
  • The screening generates a “paw rating.” The higher the paws, the happier your wallet.

Pet Fee Breakdown:

  • 5 Paw Rating: $350 minimum
  • 4 Paw Rating: $400
  • 3 Paw Rating: $450
  • Under 3 Paws: $600+ (yep, the math checks out—there’s a reason for the low score)

The “Not-So-Fun” Fine Print: Breed Restrictions

We know, we know, no one wants to be the bad guy, but our hands are tied. Insurance companies have a “naughty list” and if your pup is on it, even as a mix, we can’t approve your application. It’s nothing personal.

  • Coyotes and Wild Dogs (seriously, don’t ask)
  • Doberman Pinscher

  • Pit Bull
  • Presa Canario
  • Rottweiler
  • Husky
  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier

PRO Tip: Make sure your pet is good to go before you apply for a rental. If your pet doesn’t qualify, your rental application could be denied, let’s avoid heartbreak all around.

What Do We Consider?

It’s not just about the breed. We look at the whole picture:

  • Your pet’s age (must be out of the puppy/kitten chaos stage- Required to be 1+ years, please)
  • Size and weight
  • Up-to-date vaccinations (your pet needs to be current on all required vaccines, documentation required) 
  • Your overall application strength

A few more need-to-knows:

  • Every approved pet pays a $25 pet acceptance fee.
  • We conduct at least one pet assessment per year in pet-approved homes, $125 per inspection, billed when it’s completed.
  • No breeding, no exceptions (your neighbors thank you in advance).
